As a special treat, the Park opens Friday night, October 23, and Saturday night, October 24, so that visitors can encounter the "Enchanted Forest" at night.  Enjoy family-friendly walks to encounter talking "animals" and enjoy the beauty of the Park at night. We'll also have night hikes (for adults) through the woods and a campfire, during which Guides will discuss how people and animals use "night vision" and other senses differently in the dark.

We'll have story telling around the campfire from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. on the lawn in front of the visitor center.  Bring your makings for s'more, hot dogs, lawn chairs and blankets, and enjoy the warmth of the fire.

Guided Enchanted Forest hikes, designed for the little ones, will happen at 6:30, 7:00, 7:30, and 8:00. During these short hikes, you will meet some "larger than life" nocturnal animals and learn about living in their dark world.

To experience the deep forest at night, try our guided one-hour Night Hikes, which will leave from the visitor center at 7:00 and 8:00.  During these hikes, we'll discuss how animals adapt to darkness and we'll experience the challenges of navigating at night.  Bring a flashlight, but don't come if you're afraid of the dark!  These hikes are not appropriate for young children.

Finally, make your way over to the Beach Trail, where you'll find someone who will amaze you with tales and wonders of the night.

Please dress for the weather and make sure to wear sturdy shoes.  Regular parking fees apply.
